Stephen M. Worrall is a Personal Family Lawyer and an experienced divorce, family law and estate planning attorney in Marietta and Atlanta, Georgia. He concentrates his practice in all areas of family law and estate planning, including divorce, adoption, prenuptial agreements, domestication of foreign decrees, child custody, child support, property division, alimony, modification, paternity, legitimation, contempt, enforcement of judgments, domestic violence and name changes, as well as wills, trusts, guardianships, advance directives, and other estate planning. He practices primarily in the Superior Courts in the metropolitan Atlanta area, including Cobb County, Fulton County, Bartow County, Paulding County, Cherokee County, DeKalb County and Gwinnett County, among others throughout Georgia. He is admitted to practice in all state and federal trial and appellate courts in the State of Georgia.

Mr. Worrall graduated with honors from the University of Georgia School of Law in 1983. He practiced in the Buckhead area of Atlanta from 1983 until 1995, when he moved his office to his hometown suburb in Marietta. He is a member of the Family Law sections of the Cobb County Bar Association, the Atlanta Bar Association, the Atlanta Bar Association, the State Bar of Georgia and the American Bar Association. He is also a Barrister in the Charles Longstreet Weltner Family Law Inn of Court. He has served as President of the Cobb County Bar Association Family Law Section and Editor of the Cobb Bar News, the newsletter for the Cobb County Bar Association, which won an award from the State Bar of Georgia. He is married and has three children. He is an Atlanta native and has lived in Cobb County all of his life. He is active in community arts organizations. He is a Martindale Hubbell Peer Review AV® rated attorney, the highest such rating available to any individual lawyer.

Mr. Worrall chose to practice in the area of matrimonial law because of his desire to help people in a difficult period of their life. Divorce can be a very emotional and trying time. His goal is to guide his clients through the divorce process as efficiently and painlessly as possible, while protecting children from the turmoil of divorce.

Mr. Worrall believes that family disputes should be resolved, when possible, by settlement through negotiation and mediation. Settlement enables the participants to control the outcome of a dispute, rather than leaving such important decisions to a judge or jury. Litigation should be an absolute last resort when all else fails, because, more often than not, it leads to increased hostility, estrangement of children, and financial ruin for the parties. If litigation is necessary in a particular case, however, Mr. Worrall is experienced and capable in the courtroom and he represents his clients fully, fairly and assertively. He believes strongly in the effectiveness of technology to help him provide excellent service at a reasonable cost.
